Uninteresting anecdotes

I'm responsible for a network on which some of our customers are occasionally mistaken for spammers. Here's a journal of some of the more unpleasant incidents.

2005jul15 - I recently got into a small tangle with munchichic@yahoo.com over the use of ALL CAPS in email. She was complaining about spam she received, and sent her complaint message in ALL CAPS. As anyone who's been using the Internet for any reasonable length of time knows, ALL CAPS is considered SHOUTING. The conversation didn't go well. She attempted to get me into trouble with my employer (a hosting center) but everyone there agreed that her ALL CAPS message appeared to be quite hostile. I'm not sure if this anecdote really has any point, except to remember how munchichic@yahoo.com was unable to communicate her frustration effectively.

2006jan19 - Something similar is going on now. I'm dealing with this psychotic bitch who calls herself "Vampyra" - her email address is dkt65@yahoo.com . Oooooh, look at the goth chick being a dark and sinister vigilante against the evil spammers! Except she spends so much energy on her angst that there's not enough oxygen getting to her brain to realize that she's sending the complaints to the wrong ISP!

2006jul07 - today, nightowl_ny@yahoo.com was very rude to our receptionist. I don't appreciate that. She demanded to speak to someone in our "abuse department" and I was tempted to forward the call to someone who would abuse her. Update 2008oct01: She is now making threatening phone calls to my family at home. This will be treated as a criminal action.

2007jan25 - <sjberry1963@gmail.com> thinks that it's a waste of time to manually confirm abuse reports that were sent in by his automatic spam-reporting software. So he won't do it. Ironically, he spent more time composing an irate screed about this than it would have taken to simply forward a sample spam message with headers attached.

2007apr02 - What is it about Yahoo users (such as <rbm_19406@yahoo.com>) that makes them so hostile?

2007sep29 - <DHENDE14@columbus.rr.com> is another one who doesn't seem to understand that if you sign up for mailings, you're going to get mailings.

2008sep26 - <mlshanks@ix.netcom.com> has a special form of brain damage that has two effects: one is to forget that you've signed up for a mailing, and the other is that it causes him to be extremely rude to network operators.
