The ladybird project has been around for a while. The project has among its crew the second biggest asshole on the Internet: Mike Shaver. And yes, recently they suddenly paused the project and decided to stop and rewrite the whole thing in Rust.
I wonder if someone could start one in python again ( if anyone remembers grail.. and i blame Guido for having the idea of browser side scripting. An innocent idea at the time, but... ) ..

I wish anyone luck that is an alternative to FB, but i think the ship has sailed, especially now that in 90% of the world 'kids' cant access social media .. and by the time they do get old enough, the wont want it.. And those that are trapped now, doubt they leave ( i know i have tried to get family to get off the damned thing. zero luck )

I don't care if it was written by Hitler himself. Mozilla gets nothing from me for using Firefox. All I care about is whether the software works well and does what I want. To that end, I haven't heard of a better option.
And the counter to that is true, too. Using Brave only because of some perception of its authors' political leanings is retarded.
If this weren't the case then I (and most of us here) could not use Linux or anything with RMS attached to it.

Brave really is the best browser. Its privacy extensions are built
into the compiled code and there's nothing Google or Microsoft can do

See, I remember reading somewhere about some guys who refused to use 4get because it was a right-winder developping it. In the end of the day, it is their loss, and the guy is going to right-wing away just the same regardless of what these guys do.

And that's basically what you get when you use Brave. :)
Google's army of Bad People do all of the work to write and maintain the browser engine, and then Brave's small group of Good People strip out the Bad Parts and replace them with Good Parts.
