I've played the game for nearly a week now, I suppose I should describe it.


Glitch is a Flash/web based game that has a series of maps connected by various nodes grouped by regions. I find the artwork endearing... it varies from nice woodsy sort of environments, mountainous regions, and underground areas, to psychedelic areas that seem inspired by Dr. Seuss.

The game has several skills your character (called a 'glitch') may learn.
One set of skills seems to influence your character's 'mood', another influences your character's 'energy', another helps your character learn other skills more easily, another set helps your character move about the world more easily, and so on.

The skills have a kind of deity called a 'giant' associated with them. The favor you gain with these giants influence your ability to learn the higher level forms of the skills you choose to learn. There is a maximum number of skills you may learn, which you can increase with the 'Better Learning' skill to a maximum of 37 skills. You may unlearn skills, though, to pick up other skills if you want.


The crafting skills are kind of integral to the game, unlike some games where it exists, but isn't as important to the game. Almost everything you want in the game can be created by another character or yourself if you improve the associated skill enough to create it.

All combat in the game is co-operative. Although I have the skill to engage in combat against 'rooks', I haven't yet. Just haven't stumbled into a situation where they were attacking an area yet.

The community has a reputation of being very co-operative. To date, I haven't met anyone playing this game who is rude. Most people are very co-operative, and the game encourages this kind of gameplay. If you want PvP, you won't find it in Glitch.
