I stopped playing LOTRO after I showed up with a flamethrower and an AK-47 and they threw me off the server for using anachronistic weapons. (Someone should build RIFTS Online.)

RIFTS Online?

This is probably something else:

Naah, this was the RIFTS that I remember playing ... probably close to 20 years ago:

http://www.palladiumbooks.com/WhatIsRifts.html

They basically set up a world where every genre can cross over into every genre. And it was a pretty clever setup too. We had an awesome GM, so I'm sure that helped, but I really enjoyed the game.

It would probably be really hard to translate into an online game.

Me either! I fet motion sickness. I think it's because there's no static point of reference in my direct field of view. My bdain hatws it when I'm moving, but my surroundings aren't

You might be able to tell I'm learning to type without looking at the keyboard

heh, even when I'm looking I'm not that good of a typist, but I'm getting better (only taken about 10 years to get to moderately proficient)

learn dvorak or colemak, there won't be an option to touchtyping then.

plus everyone else can't use your keyboard ;-)

What it should really do is pick up your chair and rotate you along with the screen. That would be cool.

On the internet nobody can see how slow you type.

depends.

when chatting I can see how fast my gf types, and sche is fast.

I sometimes end up in trouble reading all she typed and reacting in time.

She's around 600 c/s, so she would be able to saturate the early telewriter lines.

So it seems the next Nintendo console will be released next month. What will they do this time, and how will they once again come up with something new and innovative that inspires people more than the same old pixel pushing from the other guys?

Rumor on the street is that the new controllers will have touchscreens built into them, and that they will be used both to augment traditional on-screen games, and to enable new games that can be played directly on the controllers with the TV turned off.

Should be interesting.

Touchscreens on the controller sounds like a great idea to me. With my vision, it can sometimes be difficult to read on-screen text, even with a 50" plasma HDTV running at 480p. Move that text to a hand-held touchscreen and it would be much easier for me to read.
