Fun game. And coolest dice in existance.
and endless sales route.
speaking of cloud does anybody else here use salesforce?
they recently got all socialy and now they have a 'chatter' thing which allows a string of commentary on just about any page for any item, and by default shows up on the top of your pages and emails you a daily digest.
incredibly annoying.
and of course it autogenerates messages every time you do something like update a case or assign it.

Used it at my last gig....not a fan, either. On the other hand, it was slightly less annoying than CRM...
Well yeah, otherwise what would be the point?
It'll be just like the game "Maul of America" except, um, in the cloud or something.
Cloud Mauling...don't forget to power-up your lightning strikes!
I wonder if the advent of cheap multipoint videoconferencing has given rise
to long distance roleplaying gaming sessions? I know that we dreamed of being
able to do that someday, nearly two decades ago, when circumstances scattered
our group to the four winds...

[Cwe have contemplated it with our current group as the ferries get more and more pricy.
Well, theres this:

Girthta and I have used this software with a Skype session to some reasonable success (after getting past a learning curve).
Also, the company behind the original D&D system have been working towards more online tools:

I'm just not sure how many people you can get into a decent session, but I don't think you necessarily need to see each other as much as hear each other. In fact, in some ways, it enhances the imagination a little more to hear each other and not see.
We would probably need something a little more vendor-neutral than what WotC
is going to offer; actual DnD is relatively rare. There are a lot of products
out there that look interesting and possibly helpful, but we havent' really
started digging yet. I'm a big fan of not driving home for an hour at the
end of a gaming session, regardless of ferry prices...
I'd favour the atmosphere of sitting together in some living room. But I do understand the arguments about transporting prices and duration.
What about gathering two crowds in two living rooms and connect them via voice? Maybe Wii chat? There is no video chat for wii, iirc, sadly. Also, some fancy display table with touch interface might be handy...
I think it's worth exploring, but I'm probably going to have to be the one
to push it and play with it. If I ever get to actually trying it out, I'll
be sure to share my experiences.
Two crowds in two living rooms sounds more like what I had in mind 20 years
ago. At the time there would have been two groups roughly 150 miles (241.4
km) apart. I had envisioned a traditional purpose-built system where two
tables, each with a camera and screen on one end, would end up appearing as
a single table in effect.
On the other hand, with Google+ Hangouts the screen automatically switches to the camera of whomever is talking, so that could be cool too. As long as everyone's honest about their dice rolls :)

Heh... could even let you simulate the whole rolling-of-the-dice action (which would actually add real entropy, based on how I have it working now).
