yeah...unfortunately shirts enclose a 4 dimensional space. We can ignore the time dimension (mostly). But the rest.....we still have to fit all that reserve energy (adipose tissue) in to the same volume or get a bigger shirt. I my case, I am trying to NOT move up to a "tent" size.
well, yes, thats what we did 'tour de geber' 3 times yesterday:

its 100 m altitude each lap.
ok, my legs don't fit into tight jeans anymore for a while now, and this won't make it better. at least its not fat and wobbly.
If we don't have rain...I will be getting the bicycle out tomorrow. I can already feel my legs start to ache. Couple more days of this and the motorcycle come out too.
I'm turning 40 this year and I'm several sizes larger than I was then. I wonder if it's time.

Ah...I used to give blood all the time. It became inconvienient when I moved to my current location. I started up again and quit. Everytime I give now, I take a nap on the floor. So either they need bigger nurses, I give it up.
Wish I knew why it happens. It kinda worries me. Sight of blood is nothing to me, so I know it's not psychosomatic. Low blood pressure runs in my family, so I'm guessing it has something to do with that.
1. don't they take your blood pressure before you start donating?
2. don't you start out lying down?

Same with me. Low blood pressure and no problem with the needle or blood.
Interestingly, I'm perfectly fine until the very end. I pass out when they're finished and clip off the bag.
It's all psychosomatic for me... I do fine as long as I don't look. Once I was with a guy, and he said "hey look, they're taking blood from you and it doesn't hurt." I looked. Then I got nauseated and turned white and they put my feet up....
Since then, I don't look.
Yes, you get your pressure taken...and mine is normal. It probably shouldn't be normal, with the weight I've put on lately.
Yes, we're laying down.....but when I stand up afterwards, then the fun begins. So.....they miss all my precious A- blood.
oh, I always stay lying down for an extra 3-5 minutes once they're done and then sit for another 10... it makes the process take longer, but at least there's no falling down on the floor.
I give regularly, I have slightly depressed BP, I carry about 20 pounds more than I should, I have no peoblem giving blood, I've given 15 units so far, about half of them post-op.
I don't know how many pints I've donated. I think 6-8. Not bad considering I'm a total baby about it.
I haven't fallen down on the floor, all I remember is wandering off into la-la-land and waking up to people asking me if I knew what day it was, and yanking the little headrest thing out from under my head and putting it under my feet instead.
I really do want to start giving blood again but I'm afraid to.
I sat through watching my wife give blood once. She was fine until we started walking out the door. She blacked out and hit the floor, vomited, emptied bladder.... because she forgot to eat something right after giving blood. They usually give cookies or something right after you give blood so you can keep your composure.
After seeing something like that... I'll never be giving blood. (I have a common blood type anyways... A+)
I really, really hate needles.
But, when my father was in the hospital for leukemia, I went to give blood.
I can't. Even though I have O-Pos blood.
