afaik oaks don't have catkins, and are also not known for causing hayfeever.

You can find a large variety of oaks in the US. And some people do suffer from allergies to oak pollen. I do not know off hand if any of these varieties of oak produce catkins.

Plenty of this shit is all over my yard and driveway. Lots of acorns too.
Hay fever is summer allergies, but in the spring, pollen allergies run rampant. This spring was particularly bad.
"Pollen season" here was about a month ago, though, and only lasted a week or so.
For the folks who believe in Intelligent Design (rather than Evolution), I wonder if they ever considered the effort that must have gone into deciding precisely where to put the asshole.
I mean, it makes sense that you might not put it next to your nose.
But, I suppose it could have gone under both of your arms.
Sounds kinda messy, fleeb. But as long as we're redesigning, here, he coulda made it a touch easier for us ladies.....
I mean I see the purpose, although I don't get why it has to make my eyes tear, and I don't get why you can get scared or distracted out of a sneeze, but it's such a goofy response, could not something better have been produced in its stead?
I guess its similar to hickup or barfing?
something is wrong, and it needs to be cleared. Quick. else you might die.

found sneezing rather unenjoyable when I was bending to the left today.
