People I know and am marginally friends with came to synagogue Friday night with 2 bald kids - boy and girl. The kids had lice, and the mom decided to shave their heads. Boy is in kindergarten, girl is 2 years old...

I'm horrified. I think it's abuse (at least for the girl). Opinions?

btw, I wouldn't hesitate to give a boy a crew cut for lice, but for a girl... I don't think I'd cut it any shorter than just above the shoulders no matter how bad the case of lice was.

triL - not abuse - especially for a 2 year old who will forget about it. For the 2 year old it might've been much less traumatic to cut it off, as opposed to trying to keep her calm enough to comb it out.

All I know is, I keep buying laptops, and yet I keep finding myself in the basement working from the computer room because all the laptops are always in use.
