They all served, in the order listed, as President of the United States prior to George Washington who, obviously, was *not* the "first President of the United States."

Washington was first President under the Constitution of the United States. Prior to that, the law of the land in the US was the Articles of Confederation which called for a President of the United States elected by the Continental Congress (more of a parliamentary method than what we have today).

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

President Obama reportedly plans to do an end-run around Congress to
forge an international climate change deal aimed at getting countries
to cut carbon emissions, in a move likely to draw the ire of
congressional Republicans.

It is also likely to draw the ire (and a multitude of lawsuits) of those who RESPECT the CONSTITUTION.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Lawmakers are sounding the alarm, as they prepare to return from the August recess, over the possibility that President Obama will take sweeping executive actions on immigration in a matter of days – with some Republicans warning of a renewed budget brawl if he takes that step.

Subject: Obama under fire for admitting no 'strategy yet' for ISIS in Syria

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

President Obama is facing intense criticism for admitting Thursday "we don't have a strategy yet" for dealing with Islamic State militants in Syria, despite warnings from top military advisers and others that the group must be confronted on that side of the border.

Here's a strategy for winning a war:

1. Correctly identify the enemy

2. Kill them

IG - the problem with your strategy is that it would depend on Obama being suicidal.

Well yes, it's already abundantly clear that one reason we're currently in such an epic fail is because the Commander-in-Chief is actually an enemy combatant, and we haven't yet mustered the cojones to treat him as one.

That aide, the goal in war is not to kill your enemy, but to remove his capability to wage war against you, whether physical, moral, or other. Killing him is only one way, and not always the most effective.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Michigan GOP Rep. Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, said Sunday that President Obama’s inertia on whether to launch air strikes on Islamic State targets in Syria is part of an overall foreign policy failure that is empowering China, North Korea, Russia and other rival nations.

One of the primary weapons of war is subterfuge. Never let the enemy know what you're actually doing. Constant misinformation at every turn.

For all you know, Obama might have a full plan in place and ready, but is fooling everyone.

Although I doubt it.

Subject: New horizon in heart failure: Investigational drug poised to change cardiology

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

An investigational new heart failure drug could be poised to change the face of cardiology based on Hot Line results. The new agent, known as LCZ696, has already been granted Fast Track status by the FDA -- a designation which can expedite the review of new medicines intended to treat serious or life-threatening conditions. Fast Track designation also allows for rolling submission in the US. "To say that we are excited is an understatement. We are absolutely thrilled," said one investigator.

Those who know me, or who have followed my comments here and elsewhere, know that I am (to say the least) not a fan of Barack Obama.

I suspect something is "up" regarding the US and ISIS/ISIL.

I suspect that even Barack Obama cannot be *such* an "idiot in the Oval Office" to be completely oblivious and uncaring regarding the peril that ISIS/ISIL presents to the United States, Christendom, and the civilized nations we like to call Western Civilization.

I susect that even Barack Obama, thick-skulled though he may be, Marxist though he may be, does not want his legacy to be "the President that Lost the West to Islam."

Hence my prediction:

9-11 is right around the corner. ISIS/ISIL knows this. And along with all Americans, Barack Obama knows this.

ISIS/ISIL made what would, under a more obviously militant and actively patriotic President, be a full-on casus belli in the beheading of an American citizen under full watchful eye of the entire world.

The time between that horrid deed and 9-11 is more than sufficent.
The deployment of 'resources' in or near "Iraq and the Levant" is well more than efficient.

And all that really remains is to give the word.

It is my prediction (which may well end up being totally wrong) that on 9-11 the United States will launch the "Mother of All Blitzkriegs" against all ISIS/ISIL positions in Iraq, Syria, and surrounding areas and completely annihilate them.

Anything less will require launching the Tenth Crusade.

Deus Vult!

I thought you were going somewhere else with that when you mentioned 9/11.

It made me think of *this* theory:

* Osama Obama has knowledge of a serious threat to the West (specifically the United States) being set up for 2014-sep-11 and is going to LET IT HAPPEN. *

After *privately* declaring "allahu akbar!" he will then *publicly* trot out the kind of response that boosted the popularity of guys like Bush and Giuliani in 2001, just in time to snatch both houses of Congress for the Hitlercrats in November.
