Saudi Arabia definitely counts, even if their government isn't openly hostile. You are correct about Canada being the biggest supplier. That's actually a good thing, because if we were producing more of our own oil we could eliminate quite a few of the others.
Sick of high gas prices? I sure am, but I'm sure they'll call me a
racist because I dare to criticize Teh Glorious Party. If that's
Actually this just seems like a non sequitur more than anything else. Obama is just this guy, you know? He's not the whole party. Anyway, he hasn't really made good on his campaign promises yet, and time's running out... what's actually happening? Something called "Operation New Dawn." They're hoping we're not paying attention, perhaps. The attention of the media is... elsewhere.
Well, fortunately, I don't actually need the passport I thought I needed when I applied, although I've lost a lot of fucking money in the attempt.
It was denied because the documentation I provided (which is identical to the docs I provided when I got my passport 15 years ago) is not satisfactory.
Never mind that they didn't return it to me.
They also complained that the photo wasn't up to snuff, even though it was taken by the post office, who supposedly always does this.
I'm mostly pissed off that they did not return my documentation to me. That really steams me. It's a fucking good thing I didn't give them the *other* document I could have used, which is the birth certificate issued when I was born. I gave them the certified copy instead, because it's a government agency, and I don't trust them to do their job correctly.
...and suddenly you´re an illegal imigrant...
That'd be amusing, after having served 5 years in our military.
No, it turns out that they are holding onto my documents until I can provide something more in line with what they want.
(or unless I cancel the whole thing and lose the money I put into it).
So, I'm going to obtain what I need from the State of Texas (only two things come from Texas, and I'm one of 'em), then get a better photo for the passport (after showing the post office that their photo wasn't good enough, so they won't be under any more delusions that they take proper passport photos).
The US will likely owe Iraq quite a lot of money:

The US, with help from our military, gets a nice black eye from this.
At a time when we're not doing terribly well financially, over half of the $12 billion from Iraq was lost because, in essence, we were in a hurry?
If I were generous, and I mean really, really generous, I could understand perhaps %10 of the money being lost. But over half?
I seriously wonder what the fuck is going on with our military. Honestly.
I thought we were supposed to be out of Iraq by the middle of 2009? And now
we're actually in *more* wars than we were a few years ago. Seriously, WTF?
And now we're actually in *more* wars than we were a few years ago.
Really hates America, doesn't he?
Well, if th goal is to collapse our economy and bring down America as soon
as possible ... I suppose over-extending the military is one way of doing
it. Foreign military presence is expensive and it
's one of the things we should rein in.

I thought you said we needed to bomb Libya ASAP.
I said we need to bomb Dubya, not Libya.
(Actually I don't recall advocating the bombing of any targets other than Redmond and Mecca, not necessarily in that order)

if you want to bomb mecca, bombing jerusalem would also solve a bunch of conflicts centuries old.
