yes, it is a little frustrating, if the 15 years older guy on the fixed gear bike wins every race uphill...

You've got to push yourself like crazy uphill on that fixie, so it's not without effort (or efficient use of downhill speed), I suppose.

yea, arguably he is more fit than me.

ok, I'm a little heavy, and have to counter my own weight more then he has..

the hill mentioned starts with 2% to at maximum 3% climb rate... the last 3rd goes up to 6%.

In total is ~8 km of distance, so, the weight argument has time to develop ;-)

I saw this, and thought of dothebart:

It's an insanely tall bicycle ride through Los Angeles.

But maybe its a critical mass?

gema is an intellectual property thing. not sure why it applied to this - probably because of the choice of background music.

the video was about a 4.4m tall bicycle (seat hight)

Yeah, you get a lot of that in Germany ... Google hasn't signed an IP agreement with gema, so a lot of stuff gets blocked when you try to view it in Germany.
I've had a couple of my videos tagged by the copyright gestapo for things like music playing in the background -- in the USA the viewer simply gets a pop up box leading to a place where you can buy the track, but the message the video owner gets says "this video will not play in Germany"

howto do a tv interview with a Tandem and two cargo bikes:

http://www.prosieben.de/tv/circus-halligalli/video/clip/2326686-oliver-kalkofe-im-unnoetig-komplizierte-interview-1.3568726/

(the Interviewer is on the captain position - their show format is a little like jackass the talkshow; the Stoker is a comedian; his tv show extracts most trashy sequences from german tv, suddenly stopping or looping, and him showing up in some costume continuing the dialog (with himself in different costume) and sometimes knocking people of the screen with a big fish...)

Yes, absolutely correct translation.

One has to know that the comfort zone of a tandem bike starts at 15 km/h - its pretty unstable when slower - the captain has a very hard job to make it go straight.

So they indeed chosed to make it more complicated then neccesary.

It is fascinating. I'm curious, and the article didn't say, what serves as the "animal kingdom" portion of this self-contained biosphere, converting oxygen back to carbon dioxide so the plant can survive.

I wonder whether this is a that good idea:

since there are known species communicating in those frequencies already...
