Although much cooler with Girty's around to go nuts.

errr....neglected to quote.
That was to IG's comment about getting older - not to Rosenberg's death. heh
so tessa, a girl living near hamburg/germany wanted to do her 16th birthday party.
she used facebook to invite her friends.
she made the big mistake not to check "private party" and some of her friends got the good idea that some more people where missing from that party.
so in the end some 10k people accepted that facebook invitation and showed up to that party...
the little village now looks like cologne after the carnival.
soo horrible I couldn't resist passing it along....

Sadly reporting, Joel Rosenberg has died.

aieeeeeeeeee... I'm exceedingly saddened.. He was a great man in a bunch of ways. Many of which were listed in the above piece. Most don't realize his involvement in politics and gun usage.
For many people, they knew Joel from The Guardians of the Flame series of books, where a bunch of D&D players were magically transported into their D&D world. It was written many years ago and copied by many. I remember reading and enjoying them greatly in college. (over 20 years ago)
But it is for two other series that I remember Joel. First the Masada series. A science fiction series of interstellar travel and settlement. He took a look at it from the "Israeli" settlement and how Israeli's became spectacular interstellar mercenaries.
The other books were D'Shai and Hour of the Octopus. I hope he appreciates what I now write..
Balance is the way to remember him...
Finally, for a select few, they'll remember that he appeared on the radio broadcasts of Phil. A. Delphia Secret Agent 86.
Joel Rosenberg, RIP. A man to be remembered.

Over the years, UNCENSORED! has stayed relevant by embracing changes
in the way people live the online lifestyle.
You don't have a FB page for Citadel -- let me know if you'd like some help setting one up. And a Twitter account, too. >;-D

Welcome! I see that you're using telnet, but if you want a more 21st
century experience you could also hit the site with a web browser. (Us
old-skool types still stick with the console, though.)
I SSH in ... Telnet, meh. :p

Pardon our appearance and weird things happening while we upgrade.
That's Rule #4, right?

Still trying to work out some of the bugs in the new code. Sorry about
that.
I try not to put y'all through this often but when we do it's a pain
in the neck and I appreciate you bearing with me.
IG, beta-testing any? I'm glad I don't pop in here often enough to be subjected to such tortures! ;-)
Aahz,
A sad loss for us all. Never heard of him but I respect what I've heard of his work. :) Especially as a CRPG player myself. Some of the CRPGs I've played apparently were based on his works.
Oh, and to avoid having to scrolls quite far through that web site, you can link directl to the article: http://www.shotinthedark.info/wp/?p=20396
