I like the way the list of circles pops up once you hover somebody...
http://www.cleanmywall.net has a nice little browser script that takes care of the tedium automatically, since Facebook in their typical douchebag fashion don't offer a bulk delete button.

This would have driven the offtopicness too far on the MS bashing room, so it goes here:
This one android device I am currently trying to get to do anything serious for a customer, a LG optimus black, won't get an ip address from the frigging router after connecting to it and won't active-sync with the lg suite/outlook via bluetooth. The LG suite doesnt even recognize it and the fine manual is nonexistant. Of course you will find the usual fine windows howto for it, including helpful stuff as "get an oppossum, cover it in mustard and hide it in a hollow tree in the backyard of your local walmart at 13:37 pm".
The virtual keyboard has no feedback and in landscape mode I can't switch to the number keys (with the same button that works in portrait mode). Changing between landscape/portrait takes about 5-10seconds, the whole thing feels like some cheap plastic toy and you need to push a button on top of the device and than rub over the whole display vertically to unlock it and it is in general a total failure. All of that comes for about the same price as my Nokia C7, the only difference is that you will be able to crap your whole free mem full of apps nobody ever really needs on the LG.
I might be on a dying ecosystem, but at least it has dignity and connects instantly with any wlan and bluetooth I tried yet.

well, of course.)
Where is the "read my email account via my IMAP/POP3 password and invite all contacts" feature? ;)
In the not too distant future, discussion threads here will have permalinks that you can post to Fecesbook or Google Plus or even the Twitters.
hm, interesting thing.

Fr Jul 22 2011 21:28:56 EDT von IGnatius T FoobarNot so nice when Citadel mangles all of the leading whitespace :)
thats why they prepend dots...
but looks better with a proportional font for shure.
Not sure wether to post this in Google Overlords or The Workplace, because it applies to both, but eh, it works.
Google Docs is nice and all, but they allow for too much error.
At work we have a massive spreadsheet (860+ lines with 20+ columns each) that defines all of our products and where certain aspects of the product lie (in-process, released, discontinued, etc.).
Amazingly, we found the spreadsheet in complete disarray this morning. Someone had gone in and sorted a column without letting the rest of the spreadsheet follow the sort. They sorted by Range, not by Sheet...
Luckily Google Docs keeps an excessively detailed revision history, so all I had to do was roll it back to when it was sorted correctly, but still, to have the power to screw up a very large sheet like that in 3 mouse clicks is insane!

Akamai and Inktomi are going to be pissed. :)
All of the usual prattle is starting about how Google is teh evil, and they're going to use their caches to take over the Internet, blah blah blah etc etc etc. Frankly I think most of this prattle is astroturfed by competitors who don't want Google to succeed. Google is big but they haven't demonstrated any bad behavior.
Anyway, the CDN looks interesting. Once it's been running for a while I may try it out on a non-critical site or two. (Not this one. Citadel doesn't work well with CDN's because it includes a no-cache directive on every generated page.)
This would be the perfect thing for someone who wants to host a static or mostly-static web site on a low-bandwidth connection -- maybe even at home.
It could also work well for download sites. I may give that a try.
