I have a Citadel mail server set up on my Raspberry Pi. I have
configured the FQDN to match mine in Citadel settings like so
<https://imgur.com/a/IjbJQgQ>. However, any mail sent uses my local
hostname (epicpi3), and therefore gets marked as spam. I can't
change this under the send mail box in Citadel
<https://imgur.com/a/HS1v4lC>, either.

/etc/hosts:

ff02::1 ip6-allnodes ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
127.0.1.1 epicpi3

/etc/hostname: |epicpi3|

hostname: |epicpi3|

Be careful about that please. Most of the people here on Uncensored are *not* part of the Citadel project team. If you randomly ping them with Citadel questions you are not likely to get the response you're looking for.

Hello, I'm testing the chance to have one or more rooms such as documents

repository. Is there a way to upload directory o multiple file to edit after

the entire upload ?

Nope ... one file at a time.

The file repositories are a carryover from the BBS days, when your favorite BBS might have been the place where you uploaded and downloaded software or other files. We keep it around because people still seem to find it useful.

Also the same room if it is possible.

Kind of like an image in a web page, or something like that?

WebCit respects MIME links, like the ones you'd find for inline images in an email message. There's not currently any way to link to things in a room's file repository though.

If you check out webcit-ng in the git repository, you might notice that we're using REST for everything, so that'll be possible in the future.

This program was unable to connect or stay connected to the Citadel
server. Please report this problem to your system administrator.

This error means that WebCit is running but your Citadel server is not running.
Or you've configured WebCit to point to something other than the local Citadel server.

You are correct, just replace the file in the webcit/static/ directory.

Hello Ignatius, thanks for your reply. I understand the way, I was a bbs user too lot's of years ago :). Anyway, I'm planning to use Citadel for groupware and sharing docs/image is an important part. The initial phase will be painful loading all the docs one at time. Could I populate the room directory via ssh and building filedir file manually ? Is there any issue with this kind of operation, maybe some flag or field into the database the will miss ?

Thank you
Antonio

Yes, you can just copy all of your files directly in under "files/[roomname]/" and they will appear. There's no integration with the Citadel database; it's just there as a convenience.

The document descriptions are editable too; just edit the file called "filedir" in that directory.

Hello, reading docs I was able to create a first sublevel room. From directory point of view on my server Linux it is such as a first level room. My question is: is it possible to create also a third level of rooms ? I didn't check this, just would like to know if there can be an issue before trying it.

Subject: Node replica and backup

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello, I got two istances of Citadel suite into 2 different Ubuntu server: 16.04 and 18.04. They are on the same physical server but are onto two different virtual machine

I configured a node replication using LAN IP, for example 192.168.0.20 and 192.168.0.30 for Test room. Replica is not happening even if looking at the logs it seems able to log each other. I checked password both ends and other configure data and it seems all ok.
Here is an excertp of 16.04 server log:
