So it looks like your citadel was stopped to facilitate the migration. There is a way to fix it, I just cannot remember it off the top of my head.

And this I get after running :  service citadel status.  I think maybe the migration is wrong this way, maybe you can't migrate from one installation from the repository to another from Easy Install following the link that I followed.

I would really appreciate if you could help me!! And what do you suggest about the migration, cause apparently this way isn't a good way to migrate from one installation to another?

Subject: Citadel with NGINX as Reverse Proxy on a Subdomain

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey there (again),

I installed Citadel and in the Setup I chose the ports for users to connect via http/s to be 2000/2443. When the setup asked me to chose an IP-Adress I chose 127.0.0.1. My Problem is, that I don't want Citadel being reached by the the IP-Adress:Port of the Server directly, I want it to be running behind a reverse Proxy (nginx) on a subdomain like https://user.example.org. I also found this Support-Document: http://citadel.org/doku.php/faq:installation:apacheproxy#how.can.i.install.webcit.so.it.runs.alongside.apache.nginx.lighthttpd.on.port.80.443

Furthermore Citadel installed itself as a selfhosting webservice and when I rerun ./setup I cannot chose any other option? Can I do this manually somewhere?

Thanks for your help,

Jakob

Check your SMTP Outbound Queue as the Aide user through webcit... or sniff your traffic and inspect for spam.

Hello!

I wanted to ask how is it possible that everyone can create a new user in the citadel server and can send emails just like that? I mean that in my installed Citadel server I was able to create a new user clicking the create a new user button and I could send emails just like that. Shouldn't this user be confirmed by admin first?? This makes my mail server open to everyone, no security at all. How can this be fixed? Or how can I remove totally the create new user button? Which files should I look?

Regards!

Hello, Ola.

There is a setting under Administration -> Edit site-wide configuration -> Access (tab):

Place a check in the box next to "Restrict access to Internet mail".

Hi Support,

for some reason my first message didn't get into the support ..

I tried to migrate from host with Debian package install to host with EasyInstall using ctdlmigrate ... for some reason it failed ... some files have been transferred

Is migration from host with Debian package install to host with EasyInstall not supported with the migration tool?

Cheers,

thecox

It shouldn't matter. But if it's the same architecture on both hosts (i.e. x86-64) you can also just copy the files over.

Hi,

the transferred bytes are just to small, but I cannot find the problem...

output of migration tool looks like this:

Testing a command over the connection...

Remote commands are executing successfully.

Locating the remote 'sendcommand' and Citadel installation...
bash: /usr/local/citadel/sendcommand: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
sendcommand: started (pid=7287) connecting to Citadel server at /var/run/citadel/citadel-admin.socket
200 mail Citadel server ADMIN CONNECTION ready.
NOOP
200 ok
sendcommand: processing ended.

ctdlmigrate will now begin a database migration...
if the system doesn't start working,
have a look at the syslog for pending jobs needing to be terminated.

Hey guys! I just installed Citadel for the first time and I set it up using LDAP with Active Directory and I can't login with the admin credentials I provided during setup.. Would I need to reinstall Citadel or is there a way to add an admin user or change the information for the current one?
