Hello!

I wanted to report a bug in the Citadel installation from the repository, when you receive an email with attachments and you have the options View and Download, when I click view, it actually downloads the file and when I click download you can view the file, so is the contrary. I can try to fix it by myself for my citadel installation, but I'm not sure which file to change.

Do you have libssl-dev installed?

Hey Heini,

Debian says yes and apt-get install --reinstall libssl-dev doesn't work.

apt-cache policy libssl-dev says the following:

libssl-dev:
  Installiert:           1.0.2h-1
  Installationskandidat: 1.0.2h-1
  Versionstabelle:
 *** 1.0.2h-1 0

It was a known bug with the version which made it into the repositories.

I will run it again and get you the information. I am just a bit confused on the restarts and it forgetting the user and port.

Mon May 29 2017 09:08:22 EDT from bennabiy @ Uncensored Subject: Re: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS .deb package install

When you say the easy installer would not run, can you post a screenshot, or pastebin of the terminal output?

Sun May 28 2017 12:47:06 PM EDT from Freejack @ Uncensored Subject: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS .deb package install

I tried the easy installer and it would not run so I did the .deb package install and it loaded. Now I am noticing some abnormalities on reboot or restart of the service. It forgets that we set citadel as the user to run citadel and drops port 504 to 0. Every service restart I have to run setup to fix this. I can not find a citadel config file hoding any of that information. Anyone know where it should reside and possibly what it should look like since this is a .deb install?

Would love to build a config that has the information and restarts go without issue.

Thu Jun 01 2017 18:30:51 EDT from awrdgrs @ Uncensored Subject: Attachments changing when relayed

Hello,

I'm running Citadel 911 with WebCit 904, server build 911 on Centos 6

The issue I'm having is that when attachments are being relayed to external servers the attachment is being changed.  Here is what I've tested.

Sent mail to local Citadel account.  Attachment is fine.

Sent mail to gmail.  Attachment is changed.

Sent mail to yahoo.  Attachment is changed.

I've tried this from different email clients and directly from the Linux system hosting Citadel with the same results.

If the same email with the same attachment is sent from gmail to yahoo it works fine.

I tried disabling all firewalls with no luck.

I checked with the ISP (SoftLayer) and they say they are not filtering or changing attachments.

Here is a small snippet of what gets changed:

============Original================

.hCenter

{

    text-align: center;

    float: none;

}

============Changed ===============

..hCenter

{

    text-align: center;

    float: none;

}

The only difference is that the hCenter now has two periods instead of one but it is screwing up the formatting of the attachment.

I've been working on this for about two weeks now with no luck so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Allen

I resolved this issue myself but I thought I would post the solution.   I have many clients sending email through my software and the css file has not changed in almost two years.  This week many of my clients starting having the issue above. I realized it was not just Citadel but other email servers causing the same issue.  Something changed in network scanning programs or virus scanning programs that was changing one period to two periods in the content.  After capturing packets and testing it seems that the systems don't like a carriage return line feed before a period.  The solution is to put white space before the period.  I indented the css four spaces and it resolved the issue.

I solved this specific error by downloading the debian package manually and installing it with dpkg -i, thank you.

Any idea why the text client complains and spits out "ERROR: Extremely old server; MSG4 framework not supported." despite the server being a freshly compiled 911?

Subject: Evolution Calendar only read only access

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello,

I set up a citadel server on my raspberry pi. Accessing calendars works without a problem, but I'm not able to write to / edit the calendar using Evolution. I get the following error message: 'Event cannot be edited, because the selected calendar is read only'.

The room is set to public access, no read only option checked and editing the calendar from webcit works just as expected using the same user account.

Do you have any idea what the might cause this behavior? I'm using citadel 8.24 from the raspbian jessie stable repo.

I followed this link http://www.citadel.org/doku.php/faq:systemadmin:how_do_i_move_citadel_to_another_host?s[]=move&s[]=one&s[]=installation&s[]=another    to migrate a Citadel installation from repository (Debian / Ubuntu packages) to another Citadel installation from Easy Install. After the migration has ended it showed the message that it was not successful and my Citadel installation from Easy Install now shows the error:

This program was unable to connect or stay connected to the Citadel server. Please report this problem to your system administrator. And when I try to run setup  it shows me the error: Setup could not connect to a running Citadel server: Connection refused /user/local/citadel/citadel-admin.socket . I don't know how to fix this. The systems are equal Ubuntu Server 16.04 amd64

In the easy install server, go to /usr/local/citadel and issue (as root) ./setup and then check if it works.

arrives. The mail server logs show no record of even an attempt to

Any ideas?

Please forgive me, I am not feeling well. After I typed that, it went through my head that you would not connect because your citserver itself is not running.

Type:

ps auxx | grep citadel

and give that output, and also

service citadel status

(if you can pastebin it, it would be most helpful)

What do you get if you manually do service citadel start and then service citadel status?
