Subject: Calendar configuration and questions

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Y'all,

Can the Calendar be configured in such a way that user can create an event, see all events, but only edit/delete the events that they own (create)?

Also, can multiple floors/rooms have their own individual calendar?

Thanks,

TK

You can have as many calendars as you want, wherever you want, accessible by whoever you want. Just create calendar rooms.

I've installed Citadel on my test server (Fedora 25 x86_64) through the easy install and can't seem to get it to use its own system account.  I've run the setup script from /usr/local/citadel several times specifying citadel when asked for the user ID but this always goes back to root.  I've also tried specifying the numeric UID but it still goes back to root.  Other changes I make when running the script, like changing the port, stick.  The messages log records the following error:

<hostname>.citserver[4461]: Cannot create /usr/local/citadel/netconfigs/7: No such file or directory

I tried creating the netconfigs directory and running the script again.  The username went back to root and running the setup script again deleted the netconfigs directory.

Is there a config file I can edit to manually set the correct system user?  I think this is what is causing me to be unable to send attachments since the files directory is owned by the citadel account.  When I try to send the attachment, Firefox gives the "Connection has been reset" error.  The messages goes through but there is no attachment.

Citadel has no config files. What little system configuration cannot be performed from within Citadel itself, is configured from the setup program.

The netconfigs error is from an old piece of code that should have been removed when we migrated netconfigs from a separate set of files into the database.
Thanks for reporting that; I have removed it.

I am, however, able to reproduce your problem where it gets the wrong system user. Stand by for a fix!

All right, I've fixed the problem. It turns out your system user *was* being set properly, but it wasn't being detected on subsequent runs of the setup program. If you run Easy Install again you'll get the new version.

Once that's in working order, we'll look at your attachments problem again if you still have it.

Thanks for using Citadel!

Are you using some kind of adblock+noscript+ublock?

Some strange issues occurs when popups windows or javascript is blocked on citadel+webcit.

I need to whitelist my citadel server for each computer that I use.

Hi,

the first impression of Citadel was quite good, installed it with apt-get install on linux mint 18 64bit. connected to web interface on 127.0.0.1, looked around, found some settings wherer server name and domain was, and changed the

US 0800 Phone number to local phone number. restarted the server, and:

Dieses Programm konnte keine Verbindung zum Citadel-Server herstellen oder aufrechterhalten. Bitte wenden Sie sich an Ihren Administrator.
Weiter lesen...

and now i can not find the setup routine to setup again, nor any config file to change that optin back...

And this was the second time this happened.

Before this one i installed another linux mint 18 64 bit, and there i changed server name AND phone number and had the same happening.

removing, with apt-get remove citadel-suite and an apt-get autoreove thereafter did not work, not with or withut reboot. even deleting every folder the uninstall faq says did not work.

even a find for everything with citad* or webcit* in the name with rm -R -f  did not fix it. If i reinstalled it with apt-get, there was no basic settings in text mode install, and the program was

immediately unable to connect to the citadel server.

could anyone point me in the right direction to get this sinking ship swimming again?

Thanks in advance

Good call.  I was using uBlock.  It went through fine after adding my server to the whitelist.  Thanks!

If you installed via apt you should be able to execute  /usr/lib/citadel-server/setup .

Make sure to set the citadel port to 504 and in theory you should be good to go. Every time i change system settings on my install it resets the port to 0 wich leaves webcit unable to connect.

Subject: Issue with "Primary Internet e-mail address" and aliases.-

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I aren't receive email for several email aliases. In Webcit, when I look in "Advanced > Update your contact information" I see how the "Primary Internet e-mail address" change, taking any given address from the "Internet e-mail aliases" box. When I try to correct the Primary address in order to put it my email (which isn't in the Aliases box), I click "Save changes" and re-enter in the "Update..." page, my email are changing again for any given address from the Aliases box. Worst of all, I don't receive emails in none of the address on the Aliases box.

I am receiving email in my Primary address, of course the same as my account name + the domain -even if the email address has changed in the "Primary Internet e-mail address" text box.

Recently, I migrated to a new server, exactly the same operating system than previous (CentOS 7.3) and I installed (easy install) Citadel in the new server and then copy the previous /citadel directory into it. Before this, I updated the old Citadel to the last version -the same in both server.

What can I do? Thanks!

I just installed Citadel and am having trouble with email addresses of my local users. My address should be dov at mydomain.com but for some reason I can only send mail if I add the nodename (mail.mydomain.com). Mail is getting into the system but is not being displayed to the user.

Any suggestions?

The addresses listed in Advanced > Update Your Contact Information (textarea) are used for Return-Path (composing/sending)

If you want to receive mail at an alias, edit  the file

/usr/local/citadel/network/mail.aliases

(or wherever your installer put citadel's mail.aliases) and add an entry.

<alias>,<actual_box>

eg:

If you are using an alternate mail client, create a 'identity' for the alias, so you can choose how you will send the mail (eg, Return-Path)

Thanks!
