I get relaying denied.

Running Debian 8.3

I don't believe the admin login is working correctly as the page looks the same as my other user with Citadel.

ideas?

I start the service and this is what it does:

Went and looked for the folders, it never created the citadel or webcit servers in /usr/local. It did create the ctdlsupport folder. I also tried wiping the data folder in /var/lib/citadel/data and it was a no go.

Any ideas?

Hi,

This manual doesn't respect yet that in packaged (LHFS compatible) installs files end up elsewhere: http://citadel.org/doku.php/documentation:file_layout#files.and.where.easy.install.and.lhfs.rpm.deb.installs.put.them

currently its still stored to disk.

http://citadel.org/doku.php/documentation:file_layout#files.and.where.easy.install.and.lhfs.rpm.deb.installs.put.them

knows where.

With the next release its going to be moved into the database itself.

Ok that explains the files, why won't it start then from a fresh install using the repo for OpenSuse 13.2?

Subject: Problems with installing with LDAP support

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi!

I have big troubles installing with LDAP support.

I´m using OpenLDAP (the latest from turnkey linux) and it works with other this beside citadel.

When I try to configure LDAP support with easyinstall it don´t start when it is trying to restart the services as a part of the setup script.

I type in the IP of the LDAP server, the base DN and i have allowed anonymous queries so that shouldn´t be any problem.

When I try to install it with internal authentication everything works as expected.

How is the best way to troubleshoot this?

This is a lot info on the installation (installation log, messages-file). Please help me with the things in bold.

If you entered a Bind DN in the previous question, you must now enter

Fri May 22 2015 15:22:05 EDT from ugh @ Uncensored Subject: Install issue when trying to use OpenLDAP

Trying to get the server to work with OpenLDAP.  I can install citadel standalone and it works.  OpenLDAP can be queried by CLI.  When I install citadel with LDAP support it hangs at the end of the install when it notes it is restarting the server.  Kill it and run the ./setup and it notes an error of cannot open a network socket?  What part of Citadel is broken?

Did you get this solved?

I have the exact same problem!

I have tried several folder combinations always with the same results.  I even tried pointing to the folder inbox which shows a different email header but I get the same result.  I also tried deleting that one message which of course then it shows the next message in the fetchmail output.  I hope that it is some mistake I am making with the fetchmail syntax but I haven't been able to figure anything out.

I enabled imap_srv debugging and see the following citadel logs when I run the fetchmail command:

Subject: Centos 7 repo dependency problem with libican

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi,

I've just tried to add the centos7 repo and install the citadel package. It's a brand new, up-to-date centos 7 install. Here's the log:

It seems like this dependency problem happened to other software before. Maybe there's a need to recompile and regenerate the packages on newer dependencies ?

Subject: OpenSuse 13.2 & 42.1 citadel service fails to start........

I have tried to fresh installs using both the repos in the Opensuse Buils Servive. The versions are 8.24 and 9.01. I can not get citadel service to run it keeps giving an error about the DB. I also ensured that Berkeley DB was installed.

This is the output I get:

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?

Subject: Attachments from POP3 accounts frequently corrupted

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi,

I've been trying lots of things in order to determine what actually is the problem with corrupted attachments in Citadel running om my Raspberry PI set-up with Wheezy.

I have tried the official installation, I have recompiled the newest source on right on the PI (and with Jessie), I have installed the OS on ext2 instead of the official ext4 file system. All combos shows the same problem with attachments. I think I've located the culprit; when fetching POP3 account messages sometimes a small part of the last part of the last attached multipart document is not stored. At least this is what I think is happening. As I display the message source, I can see, the last part (the boundary and some lines before it) is missing. The POP3 client shows the full source - and displays the attachment perfectly.

Sending messages from my Citadel installation with attachements works fine and the receivers never complain about corruption. However, sending a message with attachments to one of my POP3 accounts (which Citadel later fetches), the last of the attachments is corrupted (ie. some lines are missing and therefore it cannot be re-assembled).

The above indicates to me, that it is the Citadel motor that is flawed and more specifically I suspect the POP3 fetch mecanism. To be certain I need some help. Is there any way I can verify what is actually stored in the Citadel message store?

Sincerely,

Michael
