What would you expect from an android/ipad app? You can fetch mail with onboard clients mostly, there is an activesync plugin in development and there is http://bionicmessage.net for a funambol server with clients/support for android devices.
The webui/webcit interface is currently under heavy development to improve the experience on mobile browsers, so you will be able to do everything with your android tablet/ipad that you can do with your "normal" browser.
We get a request for "an app" quiet frequently, but we seldom get an answer to the question "what do you want from such an app?". So if you could enlighten us, we can look into the issue!

There are two mobile strategies in mind, one in progress and one planned for the future.
For the purpose of connecting a mobile to Citadel's email, calendar, and address book, there is work being done on a Z-Push plugin for Citadel. The current status of this project is that plain text email is working (with attachments too), and address book synchronization is working. Calendar synchronization is now being worked on, and MIME/HTML email will be made to work before the project is considered complete.
Later on we would like to build a mobile web optimized site. This project has not yet been started.

The telltale bugger are the illegal seek messages.
As an aside, it's kind of fascinating that I Googled "txn_commit illegal seek" (without the quotes) and the first search result was ... THIS THREAD.
:)
But that does look like a scary error message, one which suggests that your BDB is not completely clean. You might consider taking a backup of your Citadel store and then doing a dump/load using the supplied tool for that purpose.

maildroid works nicely with citadel:

I guess I'll give that a go. Bugger...was hoping it was going to be something more simple. ;-)

For simple IMAP email, you can't do much better than K-9 Mail. It gets the job done, reliably, every time. I even use it with those pesky Exchange servers even when ActiveSync is available.

Well, I went ahead and ran the database cleanup script...guess we'll see how it goes from here.
Subject: Syncing funambol with GAB
Tue Aug 21 2012 13:18:38 EDT from michele ginaldi @ Uncensored Subject: Syncing funambol with GABHi everyone I would like my android users to import the contacts in the Global Address Book , so that they have the other users ready in their phonebook when they want to email them without the webcit (email client). I tried to sync the funambol client with the gab, but something weird happens. It seems that the problem are the spaces... If i tell to funambol the sync source is Http://mycitadeladdr:port/groupdav/Global%20Address%20Book/ The sync process ends without errors, but the vcard are not imported If i change the name of GAB to something without spaces, the sync success perfectly, but we all know citadel will recreate the Global Address Book as soon as i modify a user... So my questions : 1) do you know the way i should refer to the GAB as a source in order to have funambol work?(spaces problem) Or 2) is it possible to duplicate a room (the gab) inside the same server (as with shared rooms) so that i could have a copy o gab with a neme without spaces to use as sync source? Or 3) is it possible to copy the gab into the contacts in an automatic way (everytime it is modified) Or 4) any other idea to accomplish my task? Thanx in advance
I guess this question is rather well suited for Citadel+Funambol Support.

i'll move it.
hello,
sorry not sure if this is the correct room.

citadel doesn't support grouping of users.
Usually addressing groups of users is done via public / invite rooms.
forwarding can be done using sieve; its however not intended for heavy usage. The mechanism can stand some dozend users using it, but will run into performance limitations if you intend to use it for all of your several hundret users.

So far, so good...ran the database cleanup script, and my citadel has been up 4 2 days and 4 hours without going down.
Subject: Error message when adding mailing list recipients
"Unable to allocate the space required for /usr/local/citadel/netconfigs/265.1637: Permission denied"
I have a address pointing to a room that is visible to multiple users. However, since it is a common address it is a target for spammers. I'm moving spam into a "Junk" folder with per-user server-side filters. But I can't do this on a room (as far as I know) and it's filling up with spam. So I want to just forward it to a list of recipients, but I get the error message above.
Is that the best way to handle that situation? Am I able to define multiple recipients to a certain alias in the mail.aliases file?
Thanks

Hello there,
Thank you.
Subject: Re: Syncing funambol with GAB
Weel, i don't share your point of view completely.
The first question is funambol related, no doubt.
But question 2, 3, 4 are not strictly funanbol linked, but citadel matters.
answering to question 2, or 3 or 4 would solve completely my problem...
thanx in advance.

this error message is about that citadel is unable to write this temporary file in that directory (before moving it to the final name)
you need to check file/directory permissions it needs to be writeable for the citadel user.
thanks!
i forgot to mention that im talking about creating email groups and email forwarding.
you mean its not supported by citadel?

no its not supported.
But, that doesn't mean that there is no smart way to achieve this with citadel.
You can add mail recipients to rooms, and messages which you post into that room are sent to the people enlisted with that room.
You are currently posting messages in such a room.
As mentioned, forwarding can be done by sieve.
Subject: Exchange/tnef/ Windows Mail, etc RE: Winmail.dat
Okay I know that Exchange uses their own stupid system for everything, but how can I go about making sure that Citadel Server can read/attach their messages/attachements correclty? I am tired of winmail.dat and installing apt-get install tnef and running it on the winmail.dat files but it decrypts to winmail.dat. I am running a business and sending back emails asking them to forward it gmail, seems unprofessional. What is the recommended solution, ON THE SERVER, so Citadel Server will attach it correctly?
I am on Debian 3.2.0-3-amd64
Citadel 8.11 with WebCit 8.11, server build 8.11
