Subject: Re: Can't negotiate TLS?

I tried making everything accessible only to root, changed ownership back to root:root, no improvement. I tried with both the chained and non-chained cert. I have standard ports 25 and 465 open. I tried disabling port 25 to force TLS transactions, no go. I tried disabling normal SMTP on port 25 and enabling secure SMTP on port 25, no go.

Subject: logging errors like "No external notifiers configured on system/user"

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello,

I just installed citadel 8.22 on Debian 7.3 from the debs here and I am wondering what I have mis-configured in my install..

I'm getting a little bit of mail but it doesn't seem to be getting most of it..

I'm unable to telnet in on port 25 from a remote host. Locally it seems to work normally. Its listening on 0.0.0.0.

These errors are repeated over and over - every minute

There is a self-signed certificate on the server.

Thank you!

Looking forward to getting this working!

they are no errors, just notifications. They will be silenced by default in the next major release.

What is the utility to dump all the email out of citadel in XML format? I want to see if perhaps another MTA is easier for me to understand. I like a LOT of citadel's features but it seems to me that some things on my install aren't working (I usually get a lot more mail)

I wish I did but I just don't have the time to figure it out right now.

  2. How to take backup of the users mail boxes.
  3. For a 100 users what could be the hardware specs and finally
  4. Do i require to install Funambol to get mails delivered to mobile phones

Thanks in advance

have a look at:

http://citadel.org/doku.php/?do=search&id=backup

The hardware requirements pretty much boil down to disk space nowadays, and maybe if you want virtualization inbetween, that also increases the bill.

I am completely new to Citadel. I just installed on a new OpenSuse 13.1 box, but the webcit login comes up, but does not run after either entering login infor or trying to create a new login. Anyone familiar with this install ?

Funambol is not needed to receive emails on mobile phones.

Did you use easy-install or the RPMS to install citadel?

Did you run citadel-setup?

Hi

Thanks for your suggestions and started reading about Citadel.

Struck at backup. Is there any script/tool available to take backup online. I do not want to stop citadel server.

And please share me the path for endusers mail boxes in the server?

Thanks

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi everyone,

I've recently set up a Citadel server on my Raspberry Pi on a home internet connection. Nearly everything works fine - I can receive emails and send them to most places, however I cannot send them to hotmail - the email isn't received in hotmail. Any tips BEYOND that my IP is on a blacklist?

Please review the fine manual at http://www.citadel.org/doku.php/documentation:system_administration_manual#backingupyourcitadeldatabase  for both offline and online backup strategies for your Citadel server.

And please share me the path for endusers mail boxes in the server?

Citadel stores mail in a database.  The files in ./citadel/data/cdb.* are your databases.  Again, consult the manual I've referenced above to make sure you understand the correct way to back those up.
